
Algė Bizauskaitė-Zundienė

Algė Bizauskaitė-Zundienė (1923–1985) was born in Rome, Italy, into the family of diplomat and signatory to the Act of Independence Kazimieras Bizauskas. In 1940, she graduated from Kaunas St Casimir Gymnasium. That same year, she began studying medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Kaunas University and also enrolled in the biology programme at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius State University. Documents preserved in her personal file at Vilnius University, including student registration forms and examination records, indicate that she studied until 1941, but no further information is available. It is known that her father, Kazimieras Bizauskas, was arrested by the NKVD in 1940.
