Benjaminas Šeras

Benjaminas Šeras (1919–?) was born in Vilnius. From 1928 to 1937, he studied at the private co-educational Gymnasium of the Central Jewish Education Committee in Vilnius. After graduating from the gymnasium, he submitted two applications to study in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Stephen Báthory University, but both of them were rejected. In 1939, he began studying in the Physics Department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius University. In 1940, he applied to study in the Semitology Department at the Faculty of Humanities of Vilnius University and was admitted. Later in 1940, he transferred to the Physics Department at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Vilnius University. On 19 September 1941, he was expelled from the university in accordance with an order issued on of 17 September 1941 by the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialist authorities. No further information on the fate of Benjaminas Šeras is known.
